The BIO-AID Center, led by Dr. Philip Turk, provides support to partnering entities and individuals engaged in the conduct of quantitative research and statistical analysis. We are equipped to assist you with all your analytical needs, from the planning to the dissemination of your project.
Our support includes:
- Study design assistance
- Clinical and translational research integration with client
- Statistical analysis plan development for grant proposal preparation
- Sample size determination
- Data analysis recommendations
- Interpretation of results
- Statistical methods and results preparation for reports, manuscripts, and presentations
- Development of novel quantitative methodologies and theory
- General help with statistical computing programs in R, Python, and SAS
We do not provide:
- Homework checking and coursework assistance
- Data entry or cleaning services
- Data management
- Complimentary data analysis
- Writing/editing papers or grants as ghost writers
- Manuscript reviews or detailed proof-reading
Our expectation for clients:
- Please complete the CTRI consulting intake form in advance of the first meeting.
- Be ready to describe your project, including your research objectives, in simple terms.
- Come to meetings with specific questions.
- Try things on your own to the best of your ability (our goal is to make recommendations and help you along).
Analysis has become much more easily performed these days with statistical software and the use of generative AI. CTRI faculty encourages individuals, especially graduate students, to perform their own data analysis. This is important for a better understanding of the results. We will gladly recommend what procedures should be used and provide suggestions to get started. If a client needs help doing data analysis, we will be glad to discuss fee-for-support options.
