Halt to Vaccine Trial Not Unexpected

It’s not unusual for a vaccine trial to be paused during development, says Richard Watkins, M.D., an infectious disease physician in Akron, Ohio, and a professor of internal medicine at Northeast Ohio Medical University.

Dr. Watkins told Yahoo Sports, “All vaccines can have side effects, and manufacturers have to balance safety and efficacy carefully,” in an article on the recent halt to Johnson & Johnson’s COVID-19 vaccine trial.
