OPCSMH September 2026 Webinar Flyer
September 29th, 2026, 12pm-1pm EST
Panelists:
Maria Grazia Cervone, MPH, CNC, Mental Health First Aid National Trainer
Huma Bashir, Ed.D, LPCC-S, LICDC-CS, Professor, Department of Human Services, Wright State University
Lynn B. Hennighausen, MS, Mental Health First Aid National Trainer and QPR Master Trainer
In recognition of Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, join us for a panel discussion exploring how mental health and suicide prevention trainings can help create campus-communities that are prepared to recognize concerns, respond to students and colleagues, and connect individuals to support. While trainings such as Mental Health First Aid and QPR can provide participants with important knowledge and skills, their impact can extend well beyond the training itself.
Expert panelists will share their experiences developing and implementing training initiatives, including what makes these efforts effective, how they can be sustained, and how training can translate into meaningful action. Participants will leave with greater insight into how training can contribute to a culture of preparedness, connection, and suicide prevention across campus-communities.
Webinar Objectives
- Describe at least two ways mental health and suicide prevention trainings can increase participants’ knowledge, confidence, and skills to recognize and respond to concerns.
- Identify at least two strategies for expanding, sustaining, and integrating mental health and suicide prevention training across campus and community settings.
- Identify at least two opportunities to apply training knowledge and skills to strengthen prevention, early intervention, and connection to support through campus-community collaboration.
