BIO

Dr. Keszenheimer joined the College of Graduate Studies at NEOMED in 2022 to help launch the Masters – Innovation Track and the Medical Device Innovation Lab.

Previously he was Professor in the Biomedical Engineering Department at the University of Akron, where he taught Senior Capstone, Design of Medical Devices, Regulatory, Medical Imaging,= and Biophysical Measurements.

Dr. Keszenheimer began his career developing lasers and fiber optic instruments before transitioning to the commercialization of technology.

He has over 30+ years of technology and business development experience, and has started or assisted over a dozen startup companies across the country with over $100M in raised capital.

Prior to this, he developed laser and sensor technology at government-funded labs including NASA, AVCO-TEXTRON, MIT Lincoln Lab and Draper Lab.

Research interests

Areas of interest include the development of new medical device technologies, startups, optical based medical sensors, rapid prototyping.
