About the speaker
Shelly Senders, M.D., presented “The Joys and Challenges of Independent Primary Care Pediatrics” on VITALS | Visionary Health Leadership in Action. VITALS is NEOMED’s monthly health leadership speaker series presented in collaboration with University Hospitals.
Dr. Senders founded the nationally recognized Senders Pediatrics more than 35 years ago. Dr. Senders takes a multifaceted and integrated approach to health care in his practice. For instance, Senders Pediatrics was one of the first practices in the area to be certified as a Patient Centered Medical Home, which gives families the assurance that all of their medical needs can be managed under one roof. He also spends a significant amount of social capital in giving back to the community with programs like the Family Kindness Festival, a free community event, which aims to foster the concept of Have Fun, Do Good, Be Kind.
