Student Scholarly Activity Registration Process

All NEOMED students must register any projects involving human participants or human data that is carried out either on or off campus.  All projects must have the guidance and direction of a faculty mentor, who is responsible for meeting Federal, State, and Local administrative and ethical guidelines or requirements.

This applies to all scholarly activity that:

-Includes human participants or human data.

-Carried out at NEOMED or partner clinic, hospital, or pharmacy.

Includes the following types of projects:

human subject research, (Requires official IRB review by the NEOMED IRB if occuring at the NEOMED campus.  If occurring off campus, IRB review by the host institution is required.)

program evaluation,

quality improvement,

case reports,

literature searches,

needs assessments,

device development that uses human subjects- (Requires review by an FDA compliant IRB)
