College of Pharmacy Welcomes Katherine Tromp, PharmD as New Senior Associate Dean of Education

Categories: College UpdateThe College of Pharmacy is happy to announce that Katherine Tromp, PharmD has joined the NEOMED community as the new Senior Associate Dean of Education. Dr. Tromp joins us from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) School of Pharmacy in Bradenton, FL, where she served as an Associate Professor and the Associate Dean of the Florida Pathway.
Dr. Tromp completed her undergraduate education at Worcester Polytechnic Institute where she received a Bachelor of Science with a major in Biochemistry and a double major in Scientific, Technical, and Professional Communications. She completed her Doctor of Pharmacy at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (MCPHS) in Worcester, MA. While completing her pharmacy education, Dr. Tromp decided upon a career in pharmacy academia with the goal of finding ways to engage and excite students about the profession of pharmacy. To achieve this goal, she completed a PGY-1 residency with MCPHS and Walgreens where she was able to spend a substantial amount of time in the classroom developing her academic skills.
After her residency, Dr. Tromp became a faculty member at LECOM where she took on a variety of leadership positions including Director of Student Services, Director of the Distance Education Pathway, and Associate Dean of the Florida Pathway. She was highly involved with the implementation and execution of the Distance Education Pathway at the Florida campus. As the Associate Dean, she oversaw the functioning of the School of Pharmacy on the Florida campus for LECOM, which involved overseeing the progression of 500 students and supervising 25 faculty and staff members.
When asked about what Dr. Tromp is most excited about at NEOMED, she mentioned, “I’m excited to bring my past experiences to NEOMED to continue to evolve the already outstanding program that the school has! I’m looking forward to meeting all of the students and working with the amazing faculty and staff. I’m also excited to experience seasons again after living in Florida for 10 years! I am excited about a lot of things!”
Dr. Tromp’s official start date was March 1. Please join us in welcoming Dr. Tromp to the NEOMED community!
