What Will Halloween Look Like Amid COVID-19?

In a time when social distancing is essential, cities and counties, such as Los Angeles County, are beginning to roll out Halloween and trick-or-treating guidelines.

Despite pushback and disappointment from residents, Los Angeles County deemed trick-or-treating an activity that is “not recommended,” while parties and events, including haunted houses, are “not permitted.” (Those terms reflect the city’s specific guidelines.)

Richard Watkins, M.D., a Northeast Ohio Medical University associate professor of internal medicine who specializes in infectious disease, tells Yahoo News, “It doesn’t seem very safe going to other people’s houses. We need some clever alternatives.”
