Bio
Professor Zaraa graduated from Semmelweis University, in Budapest, Hungary 1979. He was trained in emergency/internal medicine at Notre Dame Hospital in Lebanon. Then he went to complete a residency in Psychiatry at Northeast Ohio College of Medicine and is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology. He is actively involved in teaching and curriculum development.
In 2012 he established a C&L fellowship Program that is the first in The Middle East and North Africa.
Dr. Zaraa is active and Chair of the Global Psychiatry SIG.(APM)
He was, up to a few months ago, the director of the C&L fellowship program at HMC-WCMC-Q.
He co-authored the book “Guidelines for Mental Health in Primary Health Care Settings.” Ministry of Health, Dubai 2017 and was leading workshops to train the PCPs in Kuwait, Bahrain, Dubai, and Qatar.
