BIO
Stephanie Zampino is a Clinical Lead Pharmacist in Internal Medicine and Transitions of Care at Summa Health System in Akron, Ohio, as well as an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice at Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) in Rootstown, OH.
Stephanie received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from NEOMED in 2018 and completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at Summa Health, after which she obtained board certification as a pharmacotherapy specialist.
At NEOMED, Dr. Zampino serves as a co-faculty advisor for the SOAR Student Run Free Clinic Organization, as well as the Student College of Clinical Pharmacy.
Lecture topics taught include Infectious Disease, Nephrology, Critical Care, and Endocrinology as well as seminars within the Pharmacy Skills Course.
Area of Expertise/Research Interests
Areas of scholarship interest include internal medicine and transitions of care. Past projects have involved expanding transitions of care programs including antimicrobial stewardship at discharge as well as medication reconciliation throughout hospital stay. Current projects involve transitions of care from emergency department discharge to outpatient clinic, and would also like to evaluate the role of pharmacy in transitions of care for patients at high risk of readmission.
