Bio

I have a 30+ year progressive career in public health focusing on education, strategic program planning, assessment, development, coordination, implementation, marketing, and evaluation of public health programs in diverse community, public, corporate and academic settings. I hold certifications as a Certified Health Education Specialist and ACE Certified Health Coach. I have worked in many different public health settings, including academia, community health, corporate wellness, public policy, health care, and school health. I am currently the Program and Capstone Coordinator and faculty member for the CEOMPH Program, and I am a faculty member in the Department of Family and Community Medicine.

Area of Expertise/Research Interests

Throughout my career in public health I have had the opportunity to work on many different projects and initiatives. As a Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES) my primary focus is on the theory and technique of public health initiatives. This includes the study and practice of andragogy, behavior change theory and technique, and program building initiatives such as assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. A few areas of particular interest include childhood injury prevention, school health initiatives, advocacy, social determinants of health, corporate wellness, and behavior change.
