Bio
Dr. McCarroll is a distinguished research leader, educator, and healthcare strategist with over two decades of experience in clinical research, graduate medical education, and health systems science.
In her role as President and CEO of Strength-Based Solutions, LLC, she provides consultation and leadership to non-profits across the country to enhance their programmatic outreach efforts. Also, she serves as a Division Research Director of GME, where she oversees scholarly activity across 17 residency and fellowship programs, supporting more than 800 physicians.
She is an adjunct associate professor at the University of North Texas Health Science Center, Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, and Northeast Ohio Medical University, College of Graduate Studies as well as the Program Director, Fellowship in Academic Medicine – Clinical Education (FAME-E), Executive Education. Dr. McCarroll is also on the Editorial Board for the Journal of Medical Education and Curricular Development.
Area of Expertise/Research Interests
Her clinical career started at the Cleveland Clinic Health System in Cleveland, OH in cardiopulmonary rehabilitation whereby setting the stage in helping patients with cardiovascular risk factor management and physiological conditioning. Eventually, her career focused on endometrial cancer survivors dying from cardiovascular risk factors versus their cancer diagnoses. Recently, her research has focused on implementing health programs via web-based and app-based interventions. Overall, she comes with 25 years of clinical experience in cardiovascular risk factor management and over 20 years of clinical research experience.
