Academic Title(s)

  • Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice

Bio

I completed my PGY1 residency and PGY2 residency in ambulatory care. I earned my board certification as a ambulatory care pharmacist and a anticoagulation care provider. I currently work an ambulatory care pharmacist specialist at MetroHealth System focused in treating diabetes, hypertension, cholesterol, COPD and asthma. I have prescribing rights through the Ohio collaborative practice agreement. In addition to my clinic work, I am very passionate about teaching. I am an assistant professor of pharmacy practice here at NEOMED and I am the PGY1 Residency Director at MetroHealth. I love teaching others to grow, learn, and succeed during rotations and in the classroom. I have an open door policy and encourage students to ask questions and to engage with their faculty to learn how to achieve their specific career goals.

Area of Expertise/Research Interests

Since my residency training, I have been very involved in research. Many of my research projects are to allow students or residents to gain research experience. My research is related to my activities in my clinical setting. Recent research projects include: “Impact of pharmacist led disease state management of diabetic patients,” “Cost efficacy of pharmacist led diabetes management,” and “Factors affecting the prescribing and treatment of diabetes.”
