Celebrating Commencement
The NEOMED 2024 Commencement ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, May 4 to celebrate our Class of 2024 graduates from the Colleges of Medicine, Pharmacy and Graduate Studies. Faculty are encouraged to march in the ceremony.
HOW TO ORDER REGALIA
For faculty interested in marching at the May 4 ceremony, we ask that you RSVP and complete the FACULTY RSVP form below by March 1.
No Late RSVP Requests Accepted: Due to the inability to secure regalia for faculty after the March 1 deadline, we CANNOT ACCEPT any late RSVP requests from faculty, unless you have your own regalia.
Regalia pick up will be communicated to all faculty who RSVP. Regalia return will be available at E.J. Thomas Hall following the ceremony.

Attending Commencement
9 a.m. | Arrival and robing (it is important that you arrive on time and be prepared to line-up.) Light breakfast will be provided. |
9:30 a.m. | Final announcements and line-up; you must be robed by 9:30 a.m. |
9:45 a.m. | Processional begins: Move from the Scene Shop (back stage area) to the stage. Faculty will process from backstage in 2 lines, from both sides of the stage and will be seated on the main floor of E.J. Thomas Hall behind the graduates. |
10 a.m. | Ceremony begins promptly. The University Commencement ceremony is expected to last approximately two and a half hours, until 12:30 p.m. |
12:30 p.m. | Recessional (pending length of ceremony) |
12:30 p.m. | Reception (Goodrich & Robertson Lobbies) |
Faculty must report early to the Scene Shop (back stage area) of E.J. Thomas Hall. Enter E.J. Thomas Hall through either the Stage Door (blue door to the left of the main glass doors on Hill Street) OR the glass doors from the parking deck into McCormick Lobby. Once inside, follow the signs indicating the location for faculty robing.
Leave valuables at home! Anything left in the Scene Shop (back stage area) while you are at the ceremony may not be attended and secure.
You will be sitting for more than two hours during the ceremony, please consider using the restroom before the processional begins.

Free parking is available in nearby parking decks and surface lots. E.J. Thomas Hall directions, parking and map.
Please note that the University of Akron will conduct multiple graduations in James A. Rhodes Arena near Route 8. We suggest that you use MAIN or MARKET STREET and enter the E.J. Thomas Hall parking lots via downtown to avoid the Route 8 traffic.
