Instructional Designer

Bio

I am an instructional designer with Academic Technology Services (ATS). I work across colleges with course design support in creating effective and engaging evidence-based learning environments informed by desired learning outcomes. I also support the integration of innovative online and technology-enhanced course components to enhance learning across different delivery modes. My role with ATS also allows me to collaborate, assist, develop, and participate in the facilitation of professional development workshops and symposia, particularly with regard to course design, online teaching, and technology-enhanced instruction.

Before joining ATS, I was an instructional designer with The Best Center in the Department of Psychiatry at NEOMED. Prior to NEOMED, I was a full-time college lecturer at The University of Akron. I taught English Composition, and Classic and Contemporary Literature courses through face-to-face, distance learning, and online formats.

Area of Expertise/Research Interests

Prior to my work at NEOMED, I presented at numerous conferences, roundtables, and panels on a variety of topics concerning literature and composition. My research interests are: media literacy, distance and online learning, adult learning, working class pedagogy, cultural studies and socioeconomic issues and how they intersect with healthcare.
