Bio

Dr. Forbes is the Interim Noah Miller Chair of Pediatrics & a Pediatric/Adolescent critical care specialist at Akron Children’s Hospital and is immediate past president of the medical staff. He earned his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in Pittsburgh. He went on to complete a residency in pediatrics and a fellowship in pediatric critical care medicine at the UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh as well as an NIH/NLM Fellowship in Biomedical Informatics at Woods Hole, Mass.

He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of both the Society for Critical Care Medicine and the Pediatric Trauma Society.

Area of Expertise/Research Interests

Dr. Forbes has a special interest in child abuse, traumatic brain injury, cardiac/pulmonary failure, health services delivery, population health, health economics, biomedical informatics and preventative care.
