How Community Support Helps Overcome Visual Diseases

Community support and external funding of research has improved progress in treating visual diseases in children. So says Richard W. Hertle, M.D., chief of pediatric ophthalmology and director of the Vision Center at Akron Children’s Hospital, as well as a professor of surgery at NEOMED. 

Dr. Hertle was interviewed for an article in Ophthalmology Times headlined “It takes a village to beat visual system diseases in children.”
