College of Medicine Student Awarded National Scholarship

Dec. 7, 2020

Whitney Stolnicki was one of just 35 students nationally to be awarded a 2021 STFM Foundation Student Scholarship from the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine (STFM).

The award recognizes “a strong commitment to academic family medicine through scholastic, volunteer, and leadership pursuits,” as well as acknowledging “the recipient’s strong potential for a career in academic medicine.”

Stolnicki plans to present a poster titled “Medical students’ perceived impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on mental health and academic performance” at the 2021 STFM Conference on Medical Student Education, to be held virtually Feb. 1-3, 2021.

A third-year student in the College of Medicine, Stolnicki was recently elected to the Organization of Student Representatives (OSR) for the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC).

STFM is a national community of academic leaders committed to developing a family medicine workforce prepared to serve as the foundation of America’s health care system.
