NEOMED Leader Comments on Questions about COVID-19 and Schoolchildren

In an article published in multiple newspapers, including the Akron Beacon Journal, Joseph Zarconi, M.D., a professor and chair of internal medicine and the medical director for NEOMED’s COVID-19 response, responded to numerous concerns that are being raised by parents of schoolchildren.

Dr. Zarconi used marching band as an example of how to behave when faced with incomplete information, telling a reporter, “If you don’t know whether 30 kids with wind instruments are blowing viruses all over the field, act as if they are.”
