Balancing COVID-19 and Treating Patients

July 28, 2020

Michael Miladore, M.D. (’10), a Northeast Ohio Medical University instructor of orthopaedic surgery, details in a recent Q&A with Valley Tough article how his life at home and work has been affected by the COVID-19 outbreak.

Dr. Miladore, an orthopaedic surgeon and partner at Youngstown Orthopaedic Associates, shared that although “office visits were significantly decreased” when elective surgeries were suspended, he still treated patients with urgent cases, such as fractures and infections. His advice?

Dr. Miladore says, “Take appropriate measures to maintain safety but keep moving forward. COVID-19 has caused much emotional and physical damage, but our lives will eventually return to normal.”
