White Coats for Black Lives Photo Essay

July 6, 2020

A collection of photos by Andrew Matsushita, a rising second-year student in the College of Medicine, captures scenes from the White Coats for Black Lives protest organized by the Black Student Association, the Student National Pharmaceutical Association and the Student National Medical Association and held Sunday, June 28, at Northeast Ohio Medical University.

Students, faculty and staff joined in a peaceful protest held in solidarity with the national student-run organization White Coats for Black Lives. The event was one of many held around the country to protest institutional racism and racial injustices in medicine.

The University recently held a forum titled Stand Up and Fight for the Safety and Wellness of our Diverse Community to discuss actions that can be taken to combat racism.
