United Way Portage County 2019-20 Campaign Launches

With games, prizes and photo ops with university mascots, United Way of Portage County (UWPC) welcomed members of the community and campus to the Northeast Ohio Medical University Education and Wellness (NEW) Center on Wednesday, Oct. 2, to launch its 2019-20 campaign.

The event also marked the beginning of NEOMED’s United Way employee campaign.

Former Cleveland Crunch star goalie Otto Orf (photo, right, holding check) accepted a gift for youth programs – another of the areas funded by United Way.  Orf’s Hands On Sports Foundation recently hosted a Medical Supply Distribution Day, during which medical supplies were donated to free clinics in Ohio – including the SOAR Clinic.
