NEOMED Grad Receives Funding for Endometrial Cancer Research

June 20, 2019

A 2013 Northeast Ohio Medical University College of Medicine alumna has been named as the 2019 Young Investigators Award recipient by Gateway for Cancer Research and the Conquer Cancer Foundation of the American Society of Clinical Oncologists.

The award will provide Maria Rubinstein, M.D. (’13) a one-year, $50,000 grant to conduct research in clinical oncology.

In a recent press release distributed by Gateway for Cancer Research, Dr. Rubinstein said, “I chose to research endometrial cancer as it’s the fourth most common cancer in women, with more than 63,000 new cases diagnosed in 2018.”

Dr. Rubinstein serves as a medical oncology fellow at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.
