Fit for Kids Connects University and Community
Jan. 30, 2019
A student organization dedicated to fitness does more than keep students at Northeast Ohio Medical University stay in good shape. Twice a month, members of the student group spends an hour with fourth- and fifth-grade students from the elementary school across the street. NEOMED’s health sciences students and the Rootstown Elementary School students play games, do Zumba-style dancing, and other activities that keep them in shape.
Samuel Doerle, a second-year College of Medicine student and president of Fit Club, says the group is a great way to encourage health lifestyles in kids — and help University students to relieve stress.
