Dean Kasmer responds to Ritzman Pharmacy announcement

Dear NEOMED Community,

As you may have heard by now, Ritzman Pharmacy, Inc. announced yesterday, via a press release, that it was selling its 20 retail pharmacies to CVS Pharmacy and that it was withdrawing its participation in its joint-venture pharmacy with NEOMED.

I officially received notice of Ritzman’s withdrawal earlier today. We want you to know that Northeast Ohio Medical University is strongly in favor of maintaining a pharmacy on campus. With a great operational and partnership experience from which to draw upon the University and the College of Pharmacy plan to develop a practice model that will continue to serve the pharmacy and educational needs of NEOMED faculty, staff and students, and increase pharmacy services to the surrounding community.

Please know that continuing our pharmacy’s operation and service to you is a top priority.

We will update you as soon as we are able on plans to ensure a seamless transition to a new operation.
