Head and neck screenings from the Bitonte College of Dentistry

The Bitonte College of Dentistry will offer FREE head and neck screenings for cancer in its brand new dental clinic, Sept. 1 through Dec. 15, 2026.

Head and neck cancers can develop in the lips, tongue, gums, cheeks, floor of the mouth, throat, tonsils, salivaryglands, and other structures of the head and neck. The American Dental Association (ADA) supports routine visual and touch examinations as part of oral cancer screening, as early detection can significantly improve treatment outcomes.

Students from the Bitonte College of Dentistry at NEOMED will perform head and neck cancer screenings in pairs under the supervision of faculty dentists as part of their clinical training. The screenings are free and non-invasive.

If any findings require further evaluation, patients will be referred to the appropriate healthcare resource.
