Shout out to our latest Campus Kudos honorees!
Perry Alexandrides, Government and External Affairs, was recognized for sharing donuts… and camaraderie: “Perry very kindly brought Whitehouse Donuts to share with the Strategy Office after an event. Even though he is now in a new office location, we appreciate that he still drops by and provides us with donuts and laughter.”
Campus Operations and Public Safety was recognized collectively for their quick and decisive reaction during an emergency: “Recently an automobile struck the MOB [Medical Office Building] and separately a sprinkler head froze and burst in the NEW Center. In both incidents, Campus Operations and Public Safety personnel responded immediately, professionally and collaboratively. Thanks to their swift actions the situations were quickly stabilized, the affected areas were secured, the water damage was mitigated, and normal operations were restored with as little disruption as possible. These departments responded with Integrity by acting decisively, they Collaborated with others internal and external to the University and responded with Excellence in execution during unexpected and complex situations. The calm, capable and efficient responses by Campus Operations and Public Safety exemplifies the critical roles these teams play every day in keeping our campus safe, functional and resilient!”
Rebecca German, Ph.D., Office of Research and Sponsored Programs, was recognized for being an inspiration: “Dr. German is such a delight! She brings so much energy to campus and is an excellent role model of what it means to be a successful, intelligent and fierce woman in higher education. She’s an inspiration! She’s incredibly kind, generous, smart and hilarious (no matter how stressful things are) and campus wouldn’t be the same without her :)”
Travis Grey, Pharm.D., Pharmacy Practice, was recognized for his skills as an educator: “Dr. Grey took on a large new teaching load on short notice after a faculty departure. He has done great work to revitalize and renew the material and improve the clarity for our students!”
Deirdra Hopkins, College of Medicine, was recognized for her thoughtfulness: “Deirdra deserves a shoutout for how “welcoming” she is and how she decorates the waiting area for each holiday. It always looks so festive and colorful—and she includes a candy dish too:) I know I appreciate it—and I’m sure our students do too.”
Katie Tunney, College of Medicine, was recognized for her organizational skills. “Our team is currently down a member, and I truly appreciate Katie stepping up without hesitation. She helped pick up breakfast for our candidate’s meeting today and stayed through the presentation to manage the Zoom chat. Katie really went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly, and her willingness to help wherever needed does not go unnoticed. I genuinely enjoy having her on my team and am so grateful for her support!”
Scott Wisneski, Pharm.D., M.B.A., College of Graduate Studies and College of Pharmacy, was recognized for his diligence: “Dr. Wisneski is always prompt, attentive and present. He goes out of his way to be present for the College whenever needed, whether it’s for the students, faculty or staff—Dr. Wisneski is always on top of whatever task he’s given, and always the first one to finish with a full report. Any project working alongside him is easier because of how diligent a colleague he is. Beyond just simple process, Dr. Wisneski is also incredibly kind and empathetic. He’s a wonderful asset to our College, and we’re all very lucky to be able to continue to work with him despite his ‘retirement.’ :)”
