Clinical professor of internal medicine discusses health issues facing East Palestine residents with NPR

“Just be vigilante,” warns Nicholas Proia, M.D., clinical professor of internal medicine at NEOMED.

Dr. Proia recently sat down for an interview with NPR’s Ari Shapiro to discuss the aftermath of the train derailment in East Palestine, spilling hazardous chemicals in the process. In the interview, he discusses the need to monitor groundwater and potential respiratory issues, among other things, following the derailment.
