In the News: NEW Center Finds Success Despite the Pandemic

The COVID-19 pandemic hit the hospitality industry hard, including restaurants, bars, hotels and venues like the NEOMED Education and Wellness (NEW) Center.

“We’ve been through a lot in the past two years and three months because of COVID-19,” Andy Malitz, executive director of the NEW Center, told the Cleveland Jewish News in a recent interview. “Event business was down until late summer 2020 when we started having some small weddings.”

That downturn in business was a brief hiccup. The NEW Center has rebounded and is back to hosting about 600 events each year.
