NEOMED Student Council
A commitment to service
The NEOMED Student Council (NSC) is a critical component of the University. Council members are elected by their classmates to represent them to the University’s faculty and administration. They bring leadership, compassion, professionalism and dedication to their roles and to the University community.
Over time, the council has built a tradition of excellence, viewing growth and change as opportunities to achieve even more. Members choose to run for election because they are deeply committed to serving others. That commitment drives a culture of innovation and a readiness to meet challenges head-on.

Responsibilities
Members work closely with Student Services and other administrative departments to facilitate the implementation of new initiatives or to advocate on behalf of students for improvements or changes. NSC fosters fellowship, support and cooperation in student-faculty relations. NSC also supports a wide range of student organization activities that promote learning beyond the curricular experience. NSC also encourages and helps student groups to develop and fulfill community service projects throughout the year.
NSC also serves as the umbrella organization overseeing all other student organizations. In this capacity, NSC approves all monies appropriated from student activity fees and oversees all appointments of student representatives to the Colleges’ committees.
Student organization funding support
Student organizations or individual students requesting funding support from NSC must attend an NSC meeting to make their request in person. Students can be added to the agenda by completing the appropriate form on CampusGroups. Funding for student organizations is requested from the organization’s page and funding for student research presentations is requested via this form.
Meetings
NSC meets the first Wednesday of every month at 5:30 p.m. in room NEW 2016 and via Zoom as needed. The council begins hearing budget requests at 6:15 p.m. All NEOMED students are welcome to attend monthly meetings to learn more about the work of the NSC.
