Metformin in Psychiatric Practice

In this lecture, Dr. Dugan briefly reviews the pharmacology of metformin and describes studies that look at the potential uses for metformin in psychiatric practice. By the end of this lecture, you will be able to: 1) describe the pharmacology of metformin, 2) identify potential uses of metformin in the mental health field, and 3) outline a monitoring plan for patients on metformin.
