In this lecture, Dr. Dugan covers the basics of drug metabolism and highlights several important psychiatric drug-drug interactions that patients as well as prescribers should be aware of. By the end of this lecture, you will be able to: 1) compare pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic drug interactions and 2) identify relevant drug interactions with medications used in the treatment of mental illnesses.

In this lecture, Dr. Dugan discusses the tricyclic antidepressants including their mechanism of action, indications, dosing, monitoring, and common side effects.
