Northeast Ohio Medical University’s College of Medicine advances in latest U.S. News & World Report rankings

The Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) College of Medicine continues to demonstrate its impact in training physicians who serve communities most in need, according to the latest U.S. News & World Report “Best Medical Schools” rankings.

NEOMED’s transformational leadership in medical education was recognized in the U.S. News & World Report (USNWR) Best Medical Schools rankings in Primary Care, rising to Tier 3—an advancement that underscores the University’s growing national presence in preparing physicians for frontline care. The University’s College of Medicine ranking as a premier Tier 3 institution was also reaffirmed by USNWR for Best Medical Schools: Research.

The rankings highlight NEOMED’s strength in addressing healthcare access challenges. The College of Medicine ranking rose significantly in Most Graduates Practicing in Rural Areas, climbing 30 spots in just one year.

“These rankings affirm NEOMED’s mission-driven approach to medical education and position us among an impressive group of Tier 3 peer institutions,” said NEOMED President John Langell, M.D., Ph.D., M.P.H., M.B.A. “Our success reflects deliberate investments in education, research and innovation that prepare our graduates to lead, serve and improve health in the communities that need them most.”

NEOMED is expanding its network of partnerships with premier healthcare systems, educational institutions, and community organizations, reinforcing the University’s role as a leader in strengthening the physician workforce—both in Ohio and across the nation.
