NEOMED to Give 200 Free Tree Seedlings to Public in Observation of Arbor Day

In recognition of Arbor Day, a holiday that encourages people to plant trees, NEOMED will be handing out 200 tree and shrub seedlings to the public, free of charge. The seedlings will include hemlock, white pine, red maple, white spruce, red oak, and redosier dogwoods. Seedlings will be available April 26, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., or until out of stock, in the atrium of the NEOMED Education and Wellness (NEW) Center. The event is first-come, first-served, with one free seedling per person. NEOMED employees will also be planting several seedlings around campus in observation of Arbor Day.

NEOMED was recently designated with Tree Campus USA status by the National Arbor Day Foundation for its efforts to promote the growth and maintenance of healthy trees. This event is sponsored by the University’s Tree Campus USA committee.
