NEOMED Community Committed to Advancing Students

Northeast Ohio Medical University’s third annual Giving Day on June 8, 2016 shined bright with sunshine lanterns, sunglasses and a sunsational record day of giving, thanks to our incredible alumni, employees, friends, students and corporate challenger, Huntington Bank.

In just 24 hours the NEOMED community contributed 167 gifts totaling $130,589.16. The whopping figures eclipsed last year’s record totals by 28 and 58 percent, respectively. The year-to-year increase ($47,749) in donation amount alone, surpassed the total amount for 2014’s entire giving day.

The NEOMED community responded nearly threefold to Huntington Bank’s $35,000 match challenge, showing the power of our commitment to advancing students.

William C. Shivers, president of Huntington Bank’s Akron/Canton and Mahoning Valley Region, said it best, “”The perpetual increase in funds … since the launch of (the first) GIVING DAY in 2014 demonstrates our collective belief in/and dedication to your commitment to academic excellence, research and growth which all have a meaningful and long-term impact on our community.”

The generosity of the NEOMED community made NEOMED Giving Day shine brighter than ever before.
