By the end of this lecture, you will be able to: 1) list the neuropsychiatric adverse effects associated with the use of montelukast and 2) identify populations that have reported these adverse effects.
In this lecture, Dr. Dugan discusses the tricyclic antidepressants including their mechanism of action, indications, dosing, monitoring, and common side effects. By the end of this lecture, you will be able to: 1) describe the pharmacology of the tricyclic antidepressants (TCA), 2) identify relevant pharmacokinetic differences between TCAs, and 3) evaluate the literature on TCAs for the treatment of depression.
