Kyle Gustafson, Pharm.D.
Academic Title(s)
- Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice
- Assistant Professor of Graduate Studies
Bio
I graduated from Ohio Northern University in 2009, with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree and a minor in Philosophy.
After graduation, I continued my education as a Pharmacy Resident at Meriter Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. During this time, I developed an interest in Critical Care and Infectious Disease that has carried over to the rest of my professional career.
In 2010, I took a position as Shared Faculty between NEOMED and Southwest General Hospital, a 350 bed community hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. At Southwest General, I am responsible for a 24-bed mixed ICU and also serve as the Residency Program Director for our PGY1 Residency Program.
At NEOMED, I currently serve as the content director for the Critical Care Module and Course Director for electives in Critical Care and Emergency Medicine, as well as Global Health.
Outside of work, I am heavily engaged in Global Health—working with our local church to build a hospital and expand rural medical care in Ghana, west Africa.
Area of Expertise/Research Interests
I live in Cleveland with my wife Amy, our two kids (Ezra and Lydia) and our two dogs (Owen and Lewis). We travel anytime we get a chance and enjoy exploration and adventure! I love home-brewing, roasting coffee, photography, golf, board games, and bow-ties. However, I am most passionate about our involvement with humanitarian efforts in Ghana, Africa! My wife and I are part of a group of medical professionals from our church working to build sustainable healthcare in underserved Africa, including the building and supplying of a missions Hospital in rural Ghana.
