PGY2 Internal Medicine Residency Program
The College of Pharmacy at NEOMED offers a postgraduate year one (PGY1) Community Pharmacy Residency Program designed to cultivate practitioners who develop clinical expertise, educate future pharmacists, enhance their leadership and project management skills, and engage in research. Using the principles of pharmaceutical care, residents will develop, implement and deliver cost-effective patient care services that ultimately work to optimize patient outcomes.
The PGY2 residency program in internal medicine with a focus in academia will provide residents with experience, confidence and support to:
- participate in the provision of pharmaceutical care by providing direct patient care; participating in practice management; developing, implementing or enhancing pharmacy services; and, providing drug information resources and consults to other providers.
- develop educational skills through participation in on-campus academic rotations.
- participate in professional development through attending local and national organization meetings, participating in pharmacy organizations and collaborating with other providers, faculty members and students.
- design and implement a major research project that will be submitted for publication in an appropriate journal as well as presented at a regional residency conference and one national conference.
