Pathways to Pharmacy

Program Overview

NEOMED’s Pathways to Pharmacy program is the perfect opportunity for students who are interested in a career in healthcare. This week-long, overnight camp provides students with a one-of-a-kind experience where they will learn all about the profession of pharmacy along with other healthcare-related topics. Students will be staying overnight at Kent State University and shuttled to the NEOMED campus using Rootstown School busses.

The Pathways to Pharmacy week is filled with knowledge, learning, fun, and adventure for all. Students will spend the day learning about things such as pharmacy compounding, patient counseling, over-the-counter products, vitals training, roles of the pharmacist, and different careers in pharmacy. Our evenings will be filled with fun and excitement with entertaining activities such as an escape room, a trampoline park, bubble soccer, and kayaking.

Sunday, June 21 through Friday, June 26, 2020

Pharmacy related activities will take place at NEOMED in Rootstown, Ohio. Housing will be at our partner school, Kent State University (KSU) in Kent, Ohio. Students will stay in the residence halls at KSU with one counselor (current NEOMED pharmacy student) for every eight camp participants.

The cost to attend is $400. The fee will cover activities, housing, daily transportation, and meals.

Attendees are responsible for transportation to and from the Pathways to Pharmacy Camp. Students that drive themselves to the camp must park their car at NEOMED throughout the duration of the program.
