Student-Run Free Clinic Announces Fall Hours

Activity at a free clinic at NEOMED just continues to grow, and fall dates have been announced.

Since its inception in 2016, Northeast Ohio Medical University’s Students Outreach to Area Residents Student-Run Free Clinic has offered free care to local patients who are underinsured and uninsured.

Students from the College of Medicine and College of Pharmacy work together to provide patients interprofessional care under the oversight of University faculty, including medical director John Boltri, M.D.

Currently, the SOAR Student-Run Free Clinic is open three Saturdays a month, operating out of the Summa Health location on NEOMED’s campus. It offers free primary care, chronic disease management, regular routine care, physical exams, basic labs and prescriptions for medications.

In a recent interview with Krista Kano of the Record Courier, Dr. Boltri noted that the Clinic plans to add an additional Saturday per month starting in January 2020. The Clinic also hopes to have weekday availability starting in the 2020-2021 academic year.
