Research Focus Areas

Diabetes, Obesity & Metabolism

Researchers within this area have expertise in studying bile acid, glucose, lipid and lipoprotein metabolism.
LEARN MORE

Hearing

Researchers in the Hearing Research Focus Area are interested in how the central nervous system functions in association with hearing and vocal communication, how it is affected by hearing disorders, and how interventions of the peripheral and central nervous systems may ameliorate hearing disorders.

Musculoskeletal

Researchers within this area have a multi-level understanding of musculoskeletal anatomy, function and pathology.

Neurodegenerative  Disease & Aging

Recent evidence indicates a number of similarities between different age-related neurodegenerations. We believe that determining the underlying mechanisms of these commonalities in each disease can inform research on the other disorders. Our investigations focus on drug development and delivery, neuroinflammation, neurotoxicology, pre-degenerative pathologies, and unique predictors & symptoms.
