Creating a Culture of Care
May 23, 2017 @ 8:30 am - 4:00 pm
The Ohio Program for Campus Safety and Mental Health invites you to its third conference, Creating a Culture of Care. Mental health is integral to student academic success and engagement on campus. A comprehensive approach to mental health and suicide prevention requires commitment from the entire campus community.
Doris Iarovici, M.D., will be the keynote speaker and discuss “The Fragile Generation? Trigger Warnings, Mental Health Crisis and Resilience on Campus.” Dr. Iarovici is an acclaimed author and expert on the unique mental health issues faced by college students. She is a graduate of the Yale University School of Medicine and a psychiatrist at Harvard University.
The general address will be presented by Cary McQueen, founder and executive director of Art With Impact, an organization that seeks to help eliminate the stigma of mental illness by sharing the stories of individuals through short films and other works of art.
OPCSMH breakout sessions will offer a chance for colleagues across the state to present on a variety of topics.
