SafeSpace Initiative

Sexual orientation is an important component of the University’s definition of diversity.

In an effort to further its commitment to creating a diverse and welcoming environment for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) students, faculty, staff and guests, Northeast Ohio Medical University has implemented the SafeSpace initiative.

The SafeSpace initiative is designed to provide dedicated resources tomembers of the LGBTQ community at NEOMED, their allies, family and friends.

Faculty and staff who wish to serve as trained advocates for the SafeSpace initiative will participate in information sessions and complete formal educational programming in order to be recognized as a resource for the initiative, providing a safe space for LGBTQ students, faculty and staff.
