Community Service
NEOMED students, faculty, staff and alumni volunteer their time to work with community partners in Northeast Ohio on initiatives to serve those in need, and also learn the importance of making a positive difference now and into the future. Community service takes many forms including volunteerism, advocacy, education and philanthropy.
Alternative Spring Breaks
NEOMED Alternative Spring Breaks are experiences for our students to learn about social justice issues within our society, by engaging in active service and being involved in meaningful discussions and reflection that ultimately help individuals become catalysts for social change.
Make a Difference Day
Each October, NEOMED participates in the national Make A Difference Day which is a celebration of neighbors helping neighbors. This day of volunteering was started by USA WEEKEND Magazine, in collaboration with Points of Light, more than 20 years ago. Millions of volunteers from across the nation unite in a common mission to improve the lives of others.
MLK Day of Service
The Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service is an opportunity for the NEOMED community to make their “day off” a “day on” by completing a variety of community service projects throughout the day. The Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service is a way to transform Dr. King’s life and teachings into community service that helps empower and strengthen local communities.
