Who we are
The Best Practices in Schizophrenia Treatment (BeST) Center’s mission is to promote recovery and improve the lives of as many people with schizophrenia as possible by accelerating the adoption of evidence-based and promising practices. We provide expert training, consultation and technical assistance to community mental health agencies so that the agencies can provide best practices in schizophrenia treatment.
The BeST Center is developing and implementing the following practices:
- FIRST Coordinated Specialty Care for First Episode Psychosis
- Family-based Services
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Persistent Psychosis (CBT-p)
- Integrated Primary and Mental Health Care
- Pharmacotherapy for Schizophrenia
- Cognitive Remediation
The BeST Center is a Coordinating Center of Excellence in the Department of Psychiatry at NEOMED. It was created in 2009 by a generous grant from Peg’s Foundation, formerly The Margaret Clark Morgan Foundation, of Hudson, Ohio. In May 2013, Peg’s Foundation made the largest gift to NEOMED from a private foundation to continue the work of the BeST Center. The BeST Center is fortunate to receive additional public and private support to achieve its mission and goals.
Our Partners
To achieve its mission, the BeST Center partners with consumers, family members, expert consultants, policy makers and clinical partners from all over.
