Education for Service Opportunities

The State of Ohio is offering scholarships to medical students committed to a career in primary care in the State of Ohio. These scholarships are funded by the legislature through the Choose Ohio First program, and will provide $30,000 per year to offset tuition costs per year providing continual funding through this program.

The Sisler McFawn Education for Service scholarship was created to provide a medical student with a scholarship to cover tuition, fees and institutional charges at the Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) for study in the College of Medicine. The Donor has a strong preference to make the scholarship available to a single qualified recipient for the full four year period; therefore, preference is given to first year medical students.

National Health Service Corps (NHSC)

The National Health Service Corps (NHSC) is committed to improving the health of the nation's underserved.  Communities, health care facilities, health professionals, the Ohio Department of Health Primary Care Office, and the NHSC work together to increase access to care in our state of Ohio.
