The primary mission of the Office of Governmental Relations is to conduct highly effective advocacy efforts to support and strengthen the university’s operational and capital funding on the state and federal levels to ensure that Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) is able to successfully accomplish its mission of health professions education, research and service.
Accordingly, the Office of Governmental Relations makes recommendations to and advises the president of NEOMED regarding the advancement and support of relations with elected officials and representatives of local, state and federal government.
The Office of Governmental Relations works directly with the president and coordinates efforts with the president's leadership team to monitor, evaluate and address legislative issues of importance to NEOMED. Key goals of this office include establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with local, state and federal government, Office of Budget and Management, Ohio Board of Regents and other appropriate state and federal agencies.
