NEOMED Whale Researcher’s Book Translated

A NEOMED researcher’s book on walking whales has been now translated into Japanese.

J.G.M. “Hans” Thewissen’s book The Walking Whales: From Land to Water in Eight Million Years, explains, as the Ingalls-Brown Professor of Anatomy has written, “how a land-living four-footed animal changed to become a swimming mammal.’’ As Dr. Thewissen has noted, unraveling that story was not simple.

The translator is Tadao Matsumoto, Doctor of Science, visiting professor at the Open University of Japan and professor emeritus of the University of Tokyo. Published in 2014 by the University of California Press, the book has also been translated into Korean.
