HPAC Students Promote Creston County Line Trail

The Norwayne HPAC group will host a 5K, 10K and Rainbow Run at the Creston County Line Trail Trailhead

The Norwayne Health Professions Affinity Community (HPAC) group will be hosting their second annual 5K and Rainbow Run event at the Creston County Line Trail Trailhead. The rainbow run includes colored powders thrown at the racers, turning them into an array of colors. This year will also include a 10K race. The event aims to promote fun and fitness along the trail. It will be held Saturday, April 22, 2017.

The 5K race will begin at 8 a.m. followed by the 10K at 9 a.m. and the Rainbow Run at 11:30 a.m. The festivities will run from 8 a.m. to approximately 1 p.m. There will be wellness-related vendors and booths set up and an awards ceremony for the top racers. Registration to participate in the races is required at countylinetrailapp.com.

The HPAC program at Northeast Ohio Medical University engages local youth by empowering them to identify local health concerns and formulate grassroots efforts to address relevant issues in their communities. Students identify and create community programs to address a wide-range of issues such as mental health, obesity and substance abuse. There are currently more than 2,500 students participating in HPAC throughout Ohio.
