Orthopaedic Surgery

The Department of Orthopaedics is part of Northeast Ohio Medical University’s Division of Clinical Sciences. The department faculty is made up practicing health care professionals from NEOMED-affiliated hospitals throughout northeast Ohio who volunteer their time to train University students in clinical settings.

These affiliated faculty members model NEOMED core values of competence, communication, caring, character, curiosity and community in their daily practice, and their teaching and mentoring of medical students.

Department Chair

Jeffrey Junko, M.D.Jeffrey Junko, M.D. (’00), is a clinical assistant professor and chair of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Dr. Junko is the program director for the Orthopaedic Surgery Residency program at Summa Health System, where he specializes in foot and ankle and reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery. He is a member of the American Orthopaedic Association and American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery, and past president of the Cleveland Orthopaedic Society.

Dr. Junko earned his medical degree from NEOMED and completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at Summa Health System, followed by foot and ankle fellowships at the University of Iowa and the University of Utah.
